When is it Okay to Dispense?
It’s hard to believe that it has been five years since COVID was declared a global crisis. It was a time when neighbor was pitted against neighbor. Many pastors and clergy were twisting scripture to indoctrinate their flock to follow something that hasn’t been proved to be factual.
And the worst of them all is when Catholics were denied Mass and the Sacraments. We had to believe standing outside supermarkets and other places was more important than churches. These were just the many lessons from the draconian lockdowns that happened in 2020.
The Catholic Church deprived its faithful of the sacraments and even attending Mass as an “act of love”. Phil Lawlor argued that the egregious betrayal by Catholic bishops was a “failure to recognize the spiritual needs of the faithful in a time of crisis.”
Even Cardinal Dolan was doped by the secular authorities when he asked, “However, I ask myself—were we equally obedient to the biblical commands to be near the sick, to comfort the dying, to reverently bury the dead, and, for us deacons, priests and bishops, to bring the sacraments and the Church’s prayerful accompaniment to those very sick from the virus?”
This same message from the secular government was coerced upon every American. Since everyone had to stay home for “two weeks to flatten the curve”, the scamdemic has seen a rise in suicide, anxiety, alcoholism, and even abortion.
Sadly, Cardinal Dolan was not alone. Many bishops throughout the world had to obey a godless government in depriving the faithful of the sacraments.
As one of the many faithful Catholics who endured it heavily, I believe that it is time for the bishops and priests to publicly apologize for not standing up to the government. Mass and the sacraments are not bargaining chips. Rather, they are essential for the souls of every person on this earth.
Indeed, Catholics will not forget the lack of response from the bishops who surrendered to ungodly authority. They gave Satan a yard. Let’s never forget.
Bishops who complied, repent, confess, and boldly proclaim God and rebel against authority not from God.
