The Holy Mass; what makes us different?
What is my thought about God this morning? Where does our faith intend to lead us?
Two questions that should open our belief in what we actually believe about God, His Son’s Passion, and the promise he made to forgive us. A rhetorical look at the current position most Christians are presented with is our belief in what we have learned may be in jeopardy. Why, we might ask, has this condition as to what the Truth is all about suddenly after 2,000 years since the Resurrection of Christ, seem to have no more attraction to who the Truth is?
There has always been an effort afoot regarding interest to dissuade believers in God and his reason for sending his Son as a gift of his eternal love that has no ending, for our redemption. Soon we shall be celebrating the greatest belief of our faith as the women came to the tomb where Jesus was laid, and he was Risen, according to the two angels (Lk 24: 1 - 6).
It is more than scripture, portrayed by many authors, and the faith of the Church and its magisterium for almost 2,000 years, that has evangelized this belief. It is the retention of these truths that should make a difference for all of us who struggle to find meaning in our Christian approach to everyday living that has been attacked by the evil of doubt in God. Perhaps it is the slowness of Christ’s return we read about in Revelation. The questions pertaining to why God would allow so much turmoil to continue to exist when we pray, continuously, and adhere to God's Promise.
Getting up from a night of sleep and thinking about the day ahead with so much stress that awaits us, our thoughts usually are not speaking with God. Instead, for too many people their desire is to manufacture means to get ahead of their enemies in finance, money that they may lose, or the advancement of co-workers over their own efforts in commerce.
Where were Paul’s thoughts when he was arrested more than once, as he promoted the Risen Christ in the areas that never heard of Christ or were totally against him? In spite of the forces that were always confronting him, Paul relied on the presence of Christ, his angels assisting him, and the knowledge that what awaited him was more important than his own safety. The fear that could have held him back was pushed away as he knew the same threat was placed before Christ as he walked the road of DelArosa. Paul could do no more than emulate the way to Calvary as he eventually was beheaded. It wasn’t the probability that awaited his mission, it was the living with Christ forever after his belief in the Master who died for him
When we wake from sleep, take just a moment to ask God to be with us as we walk the road of forgiveness and receive the grace that we receive through our faith in Christ.
