What If--This Is the Beginning of the End?
Do you want a healthy, happy and long marriage? Then read these words of wisdom and advice coming from someone married for 53 years now.
Our marriage was put together by God. We met on a blind date, and the second day my spouse is saying he wants to marry me--and in my heart I hear "this is the man you are to marry." By His Grace and Grace alone--we are still together and have not 'killed' each other. Although, dear people, words spoken can do more damage than an actual bullet or knife to our hearts.
Yesterday, once again, ugly words were spoken; and once again seeking God's help and Wisdom--His inner voice and His Wisdom were given.
Praying, I said, "Lord, why do we continue to get ugly at times, with name calling and being angry? I just want to be appreciated, and told words that let me know how 'proud he is of me, and thankful that I am in his life.'
God's reply--"Then speak those words to him that you want spoken to you. When was the last time you told him--'I am proud of you!'
Oh dear Lord---I don't recall that I have. You have led me to say words like "thank you, I appreciate you" and so on: when you told me a few years back to speak words I want spoken to me to my husband or others too. You have told me this is spreading and proclaiming the "GOOD NEWS."
So this morning, first thing---we talked and I told my spouse how proud of him I was. "You are a survivor! You have been through many problems, tribulations and much pain."
Then I said repeat after me--"I am proud of you. I am so thankful you are in my life." He did and we promised to try and continue daily to speak what we want spoken back to us. Good words, positive words, and no complaining or we would be remaining in the dry desert without the sweet presence of God's peace, joy and love.
So all you husbands and wives---hear the word of God and obey. Speak the positive words you want spoken to you---and proclaim 'good news' daily wherever you go starting within your home. Oh and speak those words to your children too! Don't wound their hearts and cripple their spirits. Show your family the Love God shows to you. Remember, "live in love, and God lives in you."
Ya hear us now! The Lord and I share this wisdom with you. Peace be with you always and it will when you choose to obey His Words.
