What did Jesus say about the duties of Parents to children, and the duties of Adult Children to Parents
Letting Go
Eileen Renders
Letting go can be a precarious nature, or it can also be a positive move or choice in our lives. When we discontinue a practice or habit that is beneficial to ourselves or others, that may contribute to who we are as an individual and conjures up a perspective of our past. This scenario can contribute to how we are viewed as a person and judged by others. To believe that we have done our part and contributed to the betterment of society, but now we choose to relinquish that commitment can affect others. Examples of such might be as noted with retired Musicians, Teachers, Researchers, Writers, and a whole host of contributors to society who can positively affect the lives of others.
In this case, we could be referred to as “They were once”, “In the past”, or one who is no longer a contributor. Letting go can be associated with relinquishing something that may have increased a risk to our health or emotional stability as well.
Therefore, to remain in the here and now, to be represented by our effort to help others, it may be a good thing to remain active and not be a quitter because we now have enough security in our lives. Let us move forward together and work toward omitting the negative people and things in our lives that often cause us to want to just give up.
We are all capable of living long, healthy, and productive lives as long as we remain focused on and follow Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the Light.
By offering to continue to carry our light into the world by offering whatever positive instrument of grace God has provided us with, we are helping others. Moreover, the graces and blessings God provides us with as a result of our service to Him cannot come near to what God desires to give to His people.
This message, I suppose, is to become very attuned to what is a life of service, and what might need to be “let go of”. We all were gifted by God with free will, and how we use it becomes part of our destiny. Of course, we are only limited or in control of a few things in our lives, such as the choices we make. The results of our choices are always up to God. What happens to others in their lives is out of our control for the most part.
