A Prayer on a Rainy Day
Lord, so many things have gone wrong today:
Exhaustion, sadness, and anxiety have accompanied me all day.
Loneliness, sorrow, and temptation have hid in my shadow.
The rain is still falling; a drizzle became a downpour
The gentle wind is now roaring,
The waves that once caressed me now slaps,
The banquet in front of me has disappeared.
Lord, help me see you in it all.
Help me turn to you in the midst of this company.
Let me find your light to cast away this shadow.
Encourage me as the rain comforts the plants
Their seeds are being sowed by your mighty hand.
That it is this water you give as nourishment.
Lead me to gratefulness for what I once had.
Remind me that I am yours.
Remind me that I am loved.
That on a rainy day, you are still here.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
