Why I March for Life? Men’s Perspective
Easter is a hare over two weeks away. For those who are journeying home to Rome, it may have been met with excitement and then some opposition. Some who have faced a similar journey can relate to the excitement and anxiety that have intersected at once.
During a recent scroll on Twitter, one candidate this Easter revealed how he has hindered his intentions of becoming a Catholic from his parents.
My response: when you're caught in a storm, the best way is to keep going forward and never look back. You're going to be a part of something greater than yourself.
I can only pray that this young man will remember three words, “Be Not Afraid.” Perhaps, he will read this article. Then, there is someone who saw this article is realizing that they are not alone. When one begins the journey home to Catholicism, there is no going back. It’s always forward.
Fulton Sheen once said, “If I were not a Catholic, and were looking for the true Church in the world today, I would look for the one Church which did not get along well with the world; in other words, I would look for the Church which the world hated.”
For those who will be seeing the finish line in sight, you must know that the prayers and love of those who have guided you to that point will always be with you. There are people in your RCIA who have a similar path as you. Together, you’ve been walking on the journey that began in the fall.
Know that you will not regret your decision to come home to Catholicism. It has made many coverts into dynamic witnesses to the faith. You will be in good company.
Remember the only direction to Rome is forward. Onward, Christian Soldier. Onward to Rome. No retreat.
