A Prayer on a Rainy Day
Lord, I kneel before you today amid all my tribulations.
[List all present troubles]
As I stare at the horizon, I feel more problems coming to trouble me
[List all future worries and troubles]
My Lord, My God, please do not forsake me.
My Lord, only you know what is happening inside and around me.
I lack discernment. Look within me and guide me, Oh Holy Spirit
Christ please take me into your arms and embrace me as you did with the children.
Hold me close to your heart so the ice in me will melt as my heart comes ablaze with your love, mercy, and passion.
When I feel abandoned by my parents, Christ remind me of your willing sacrifice that allows me to look up and say, “Abba Padre”, “Our Father”, and “Beloved Mother Mary”.
When I feel alone, Father, remind me that you are with me. Let me say to you, “My refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust.” (Psalms 91:2)
When my friends have left me, remind me that you have always been beside me. That you have never left me or fallen asleep upon my calling to you.
When darkness clouds my sight, Holy Spirit, close my physical eyes and help me kneel. Help me regain my spiritual sight of the light that is Christ.
When the storm rages, the wind howls, the waves crash, or as the earth shakes, let me find rest in you, Our Father. “...Your rod and staff comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)
When everything seeks my attention, lead me as you led St. Joseph, to take a step back and seek you for rest, comfort, guidance, and love.
Cleanse me of my sins, My Lord, My God, and Father. Remind me of how you have missed me and let me hear your voice. If I have no words to speak, help me come to you; for I have missed you too. Thank you for always walking the path of life with me.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
Thank you and I love you, Father.
[Your own words of thanks]
