Stop trusting the untrustworthy!

For reasons that are beyond me, the current American president has shown an inability to understand the root causes in the war between russia and Ukraine, and sincerely seems to believe a certain russian dictator, wants peace. Now, setting aside the fact that if that were true, the president of russia would withdraw troops from Ukraine, I think that there may be a problem with our president failing to understand an historical lesson for one very good reason.
His Bible doesn't have 1 Maccabees

Hear me out, my nephew and I noticed this during our Bible study,
“So he spake unto them peaceably, and sware unto them, saying, We will procure the harm neither of you nor your friends. Whereupon they believed him: howbeit he took of them threescore men, and slew them in one day, according to the words which he he wrote, “The flesh of thy saints have they cast out, and their blood have they cast out, and their blood she around Jerusalem and there was none to bury then. Wherefore the fear and dread off them fell upon all the the people, who said, There is neither truth nor righteousness in them; for they have broken the covenant and oath that they made”(-1 Maccabees 7:15-18)
“Then the king sent Nicanor, one of his honourable princes, a man that bare deadly hate unto Israel, with commandment to destroy the people. So Nicanor came to Jerusalem with a great force; and sent unto Judas and his brethren deceitfully with friendly words, saying, Let there be no battle between me and you; I will come with a few men, that I may see you in peace. He came therefore to Judas, and they saluted one another peaceably. Howbeit the enemies were prepared to take Judas away by violence” 1 Maccabees 7:26-29
Just because someone TELLS you that you can trust them, it doesn't make it so.
You should really judge a person's motives by their actions. As for the president of the russian federation...Russia’s lies about peace: 30 years of broken promises in international negotiations

If someone previous actions have repeatedly having shown to breach trust, STOP TRUSTING THAT PERSON!
