CAMPING WITH GOD
THE GARDEN: A PLACE SOLACE
By MARY OLIVIA PATIÑO
In the garden
On bended knees
Aching effort
From groans and creaks
I dig holes
Yank out weeds
Hurtful deeds
Tears, unfettered, drop
Remorse, love, pain, mix
Thunder in my ears
Laments, regrets, praise released
Nourish soil
Roses, rosemary, oleanders
Evergreens in Spring
Summer, Winter, Fall
Life’s cycle is all too brief
Grief will burst through mounds
Transformed by Divine Mercy
Solace blooms radiant hues
In the garden
I shed new tears
Rejoice in God
In all that’s dear
