The Infinite Love of Our All-Powerful God.
Not always will your faith in Jesus Christ and His Church inconvenience us, but it undoubtedly will. The good Samaritan was inconvenienced, but that did not stop him. We need to see these moments not as an inconvenience, but as an opportunity to love. Love is often inconvenient, but it is always needed.
Parents are inconvenienced all of the time. What proof? Ask God. As His children, we inconvenience Him. He created us and was loving us perfected until the Original Sin. He was inconvenienced, but still showed His love. Sending Adam and Eve from the garden to prevent us from living forever apart from Him. “Now, what if he also reaches out his hand to take fruit from the tree of life, and eats of it and lives forever?” [Genesis 3:22] Destroying us would have been more convenient.
Then, God walked humanity thru our infancy. Tried to teach us how to live. Gave us rules that would let us live better lives. All while humanity would defy Him and only occasionally ask for forgiveness. As an all-loving Father, He did what was merciful and just. Then to bring us back into communion with Him, He sent His only-begotten Son to be one of us and tasked His Son with re-uniting humanity with our Creator.
Jesus then was inconvenienced with living among His creation. He lived for 30 years in a private life to better understand the human condition. He surely would have experience humanity sinful ways, though remaining sinless Himself, since He cannot deny Himself. Then, He went thru the inconvenience of trying to teach humanity the ways of God. He was perplexed at the lack of faith and understanding of some of the scholars of the law, but still showed His love and continued.
He then entered His Passion and Death for this inconveniencing humanity. He loved through the pain, torture, and death that this humanity laid upon Him. He loved those killing Him. Loved those who despised Him while they were spitting on Him and mocking Him. A love that finds its fulfillment in the Resurrection. The love could not be killed. Instead, it created a way to be re-united with God as He intended from the beginning.
God was inconvenienced for you. He would have been inconvenienced if you were the only one in need of His salvation. Those nails… He would have taken them if you were the only one to die for. God is all-loving, so He cannot deny love to anyone, no matter what you or I have done. He was inconvenienced for you. Will you and I be inconvenienced for Him?
