"Ex Cathedra" The chair of Peter
Finding Justice within our own heart is primordial for each one of us!
To be the first within our own thoughts of just who we are in the world of unknowns or confusing attributes that leaves little room for discovery without help from God can appear as unjust. However, we need to find our way around the many differences that may lead us in the wrong direction of the mystery of justification.
Like conversion, justification has two aspects. Moved by grace, man turns toward God and away from sin, and so accepts forgiveness and righteousness from on high. (CCC 2018).
Justification includes the remission of sins, sanctification, and the renewal of the inner man. (CCC 2019).
In our world where we have politics struggling against spiritual thoughts we find many signs of unjust differences that have confused the average person as to what is morally correct. In the early Baltimore Catechism the dictates of what to adhere to were pretty straight forward through memorization. Today the Nicene Creed makes understanding clearer and easy to understand for most people. However, the political arena is a different animal. The Constitution of the United States of America, like our Catechism, should leave no confusion as the rights of American citizens.
Watching the activities of Congress and the never-ending arguing between the two parties in Washington D.C. we begin to take another look as to how long our documents and the premise of their authority will remain untouched by scrupulous antagonists who will at any cost attempt to remove by unjust actions our democracy.
There is no problem when people who have the desire to hold to the truth that our ancestors diligently put together guidelines that justly protect the American citizen protect these laws. However, just like there are factions that do not want to follow the dictates of the Nicene Creed because of a liberal adherence, there are the same type of politicians who want to promote a social atmosphere in our government by inviting in a Marxist regime that surely will destroy our way of life.
Both adherences, spiritual and political, are tearing at the very justifications our nation and right to believe in the God of justice have kept our democracy and faith in God intact. In a few days we shall all lament the scene that begins Holy Week with receiving the palms of the welcoming of Jesus on a donkey, symbolizing his humble sign of a perfect lamb on his way to his death. His Passion is the sign we all need to keep in mind as he justifies the remission of our sins by putting each of us at the center of God’s forgiveness.
Will the adversaries of the Church be changed? Will the politicians who are Marxist minded be changed? We need to keep these thoughts in front of us as we walk home waving a palm before our eyes and hoping for the justification of our faith and nation as primordial.
