Colorado Democrats Fail Job of Balancing Budget During Emergency Legislation
More Ambulances at Fort Collins Planned Parenthood:
Between December 2024 and April 4, 2025, seven ambulances transported young women from Fort Collins Planned Parenthood, according to pro-life sidewalk counselors. This is the same clinic that called an ambulance for an 18-year-old who later died on February 6, 2025. Dr. Kiri Kasun testified to a Colorado House committee that her death was caused by an amniotic fluid embolism following abortion complications. Dr. Kasun stated, “The abortion industry wants to legitimize itself as women’s health care, but without regulations or accountability, I would consider that ‘back-alley,’ and it elicits back-alley behaviors such as the silent siren” (testimony at tinyurl.com/4bn6f9zf, timestamps 12:09:43 PM, and 12:16:10 PM).
On April 3, 2025, the sixth ambulance since December arrived at Fort Collins Planned Parenthood. Pro-life sidewalk counselor Kristy Neeley had spoken moments earlier with a young woman and her friend, offering a free rose and resources while warning them about the recent emergencies like the five ambulances, including the 18-year-old girl who died after her abortion. Kristy said, “I shared how much we cared and that they did not need to do this and that there were so many options. They looked at each other wide-eyed… but they went in anyway.” Shortly after, an ambulance arrived. The two girls whom Kristy had spoken with, then left Planned Parenthood as the ambulance made them nervous (Kristy Neeley, April 3, “Day 30” email).
On April 4, 2025, the seventh ambulance since December was photographed at Fort Collins Planned Parenthood by pro-life sidewalk counselors ((Kristy Neeley, April 5, “Day 32” email). Like the previous six, it used no siren or flashing lights—the “silent siren” practice which Dr. Kasun calls ‘back-alley’ behavior.
On three separate occasions in March 2025, an ambulance was observed at the Denver Park Hill Planned Parenthood. Operation Rescue is investigating those three plus five abortion injuries at Fort Collins Planned Parenthood besides the 18-year-old’s death (tinyurl.com/3weh7a5u). This raises the question: Should abortion clinics follow the same safety and inspection rules as other surgical centers in Colorado? House Bill 25-1252, aimed at requiring such regulations, was defeated on March 11, when all eight Democrats on the committee voted against it. Adding to the concern, Planned Parenthood receives over a third of its income—$700 million—from federal taxpayer funds (page 26 of their 2023 report: tinyurl.com/2jt78cuf).
In psychology, the term “enabling” describes how people unintentionally support harmful behavior—often by staying silent. Doing nothing makes us part of the problem. Some claim pre-born children are not persons, but both science and scripture affirm their humanity. The AMA recognized that human life begins at fertilization in 1859 (tinyurl.com/4kf7p4jr). If you are a Christian, it is time to ask whether you’re willing to take a stand aligned with Jesus’ teachings as we examine the subject of abortion. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me... for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew. 19:14), and “…hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, ‘But we knew nothing about this,’ does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? (Proverbs 24:11-12)”. The book of Luke was written in Greek, and it uses the same Greek word—brephos—to describe both the pre-born John the Baptist leaping in the womb (Luke 1:41) and baby Jesus lying in a manger (Luke 2:16). Brephos means "baby," "infant," or "young child"—not “fetus” for one and “baby” for the other. This consistent language shows that, scripturally, human life holds the same value in the womb and in our arms.
