Betrayal

How it hurts when someone lies

Even worse if because another dies

Or turning your back to one who loves you

Only so you can spite them and be untrue

Today we read about Judas leaving

The other Apostles baffled in what they we’re hearing

Only our Lord knew what was happening

Sadness in His Heart for He knew what was coming

But He hurt far worse not for this action

But the betrayal which caused a gut reaction

For though He was truly divine

He too was a human and this was not fine

For when we turn our backs to Jesus

Directly or through another it hurts him and harms us

And puts us in the way of possible calamity

Of not being with Him for the rest of eternity
