Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Tolerating something takes great discernment to make it not become neglect in our responsibilities to allow a situation to become specifically wrong. People are different in their beliefs and tendencies other than ours and we must watch out for our decisions to not become demanding and controlling. God is watching and is the Eternal judge.
This world, aka, the devil and his minions, are swirling all over. Following our every move like the vipers they are. Suggestions, temptations and influences make our minds crazy with all sorts of thoughts and distractions. But one thing is for sure. If Love remains within our hearts, we can tolerate more easily. Getting someone to understand our side of the story is just as hard on them as it is for us to understand their way of thinking.
Discust, lack in the knowledge of the rules of God, play a big part in our split second determinations to deem something wrong. The lesson of Jesus's question to the men who wanted to stone the woman caught in adultery should always remind us to not judge and hand over that responsibility to a God who is all knowing and all fair. Sure wrong is wrong and right is right. Yes is yes and no is no. The formula in toleration becomes and all boils down to Love. We can have our opinions and that is just fine for our own souls. Pushing someone up against a fence with demand is where it becomes wrong. Respect me as you wish me to respect you. Tolerate me as you wish me to tolerate you. Equality and emotions are the key. There must be fair ground acquired between the two.
How much are Lord has tolerated me! Falling again and again and again to the point of wearing out my poor Guardian Angel. It's the same, as if more, that we are supposed to do for others.
Keep Love inyour heart and we can live in Peace. Love God and your neighbor as He commanded and the toleration will become easy.
