 Getting to the Meat of this Growing Health Risk: Take Heart, and Tune In

 Sorry to break the news to you, but please don’t take my word for it; however, allow me to share with you what research studies and conclusions have found by those qualified to say so. To begin, I quote,

Alice G. Walton, Ph.D, in her article INNOVATION HEALTHCARE writes, “Despite the popularity of protein-rich diets like Atkins and Paleo, new research suggests that it may be wise to steer the opposite way, especially when considering cancer risk. In a new study (this article is dated back to May 04, 2014), middle-aged people who ate protein-heavy diets had a markedly increased risk of dying from cancer compared to their low-protein counterparts. But, as always, there are caveats: Protein from animal sources – meat and dairy -was what largely produced the risk, whereas plant-derived proteins seemed to be “safer,”

World Cancer Research Fund/American Institute for Cancer Research – Volume 89, issue 5, May, 2009 – Dominik D Alexander writes, “In a recent World Cancer Research Fund/American Institute for Cancer Research report of diet and cancer, it was concluded that there is limited but suggestive evidence that animal fat intake increases the risk of colorectal cancer. This article and its conclusion examine the various types of fats, such as saturated, monounsaturated, etc., and explain exactly how they affect the human body.

Other research through the National Library of Medicine, PubMed, has a host of articles dedicated to research on red meat and an increase in the incidence of breast cancer, colon cancer, and other types of cancer. This is also true with meats that have been processed.

Note:  As a child, I was taught that all that our Creator did while on Earth was to be an example of how we might think, believe, and live as well. And I only recall Him sitting down to a meal that included Fish, baked bread, cheese, some vegetables, and maybe goat milk? He walked many miles each day, and did not eat three meals a day or snack. No corner Grocers, or refrigeration. He worked with His earthly father as a Carpenter.

I do not believe He ever wanted to lead us down the wrong path.
