The Three Tiers of God's Love
What is missing in your Life?
Eileen Renders
For many of us, there are those times when we just feel that something is missing in our lives. Be it joy, satisfaction, serenity, or purpose. On the surface, nothing appears to be amiss. We have a good family, a job, our home to take care of, a compatible spouse, yet we feel that there is something we are missing.
Often, when we have the time and the thoughts of considering how we missed something, it is the Holy Spirit urging us on to do something of service for someone less fortunate. Someone we know, possibly who lives alone, has lesser means or ability to do for his or her self as they need, or would enjoy. They do not drive, they are elderly, or their spouse has passed on.
God created us in such a way that when we give joy, it also creates a good feeling of joy within ourselves. This is because we can see the joy we have given immediately; therefore, within our soul, we are immersed in the joy of knowing that God is pleased with us. For it is written, He said, “What you do unto others, the least of My brethren, you do unto Me.”
Some might say it is paying it forward, or a cliché such as “What goes around, comes around.” However.
In our heart of hearts, most of us know that in our sadness and pain, God will never leave us. If we see a raggedy man sitting on a crowded Street corner with a donation box beside him, we do not approach and ask, “Could you use a dollar?” No, of course not. When we give from our heart with empathy and sincerity, we just see the need and give.
Little things such as offering to walk the dog for an elderly man or woman, visiting a Nursing home with a patient who has no family. God has shown us how love, forgiveness, humility, and empathy are the examples He wants us to follow. What he gives back to us in return is plentiful. Joy, hope, satisfaction, God’s love and protection, and our salvation.
