Brighter Days Ahead
When I think of Pope Franics and his historic vist to NY, I remember feeling so happy and grateful to him for coming to the city I lived in. At the time my daughter's operated a Kiosh in Broadway mall in Hicksvill NY and they took the day off along with my grandson, to go down to Manhattan to be in the joy of the people of our city who crowded the street of NYC to see this Pope everyone knew loved the people. I stayed back to operate the Kiosh and to my suprise after I got home that night and turned on News 12, there they were on TV, my children being interview and asked questions about their expierence while in NYC to see the Pope. I was so thrilled to see them answer every quetion the News Reporter asked with so much excitment and joy about why they came down to see the Pope. I remember them telling me that for days after that event, poeple everywhere recogized them from the TV interview, some even thought my daughters had a audience with the Pope. It was just delightful to have the Pope here with us and being New Yorker's we fully enjoyed his visit. I remember watching TV as his air plane took off to return to Rome and I dropped somes tears at the sight of him leaving. There is no doubt in my mind his legacy will live on in a special way with all those he came in contact with one way or another and my family will never forget his visit to the Big Apple and them being there.
