Fourth Sunday of Advent; a pronounced happening for Christmas Eve.
World Powers and Christ?
How many antagonists have discounted the condition of world domination over the reality of Christ as the creator and ultimate King of the universe soon to become the ultimate new world? Perhaps not too many people who have pushed aside religion as a positive entity in our present condition of the world desire to dominate each other. Not too many years passed when the premise of some nations were seeking to take over the whole world, if that were a possible outcome. Nations, like the United States and its allies, would never allow such things to exist.
However, we are facing more than nuclear arms under the control of madmen who have the old idea of destroying the nations with a peaceful outlook and the one arm of takeover is to destroy the adherence of Christ and his Church. One method they use is to deny the existence of priests whom God’s Holy Spirit calls into ministry. Another way of reaching into the future are methods of alleviating marriage and reducing the procreation of future priests. Satan is using what we might deem just a coincidence, but the actual reduction of family life is not flourishing as it once did.
Destroy the family unity and the whole idea of God’s intent to have a man and woman marry and give to the world doctors, engineers, and priests, and watch how evil mannerisms will take over the world’s progress of people who are using the grace of God to continue his kingdom of believers.
We might think that nothing so abstract could occur but as we read opinions of a possible outcome is actually a probability as we watch how the Church’s pews are diminishing and seminary numbers have not increased for a number of years. Is following God too much of a challenge for younger men to seek holy Orders? Thank God that a lot of vocations are with men who have reached a mature calling and are seeking to serve Christ with his blessings.
No one can predict the future of our world conflicts and neither can we look ahead to what a spiritual calling for everyone will be like next year or several years into the future. However, it behooves each one of us to hold onto our faith and find the grace that God will pour out on us as we allow his Holy Spirit to continue guiding our intentions of peaceful unity among us.
What was once a belief in the Holy Spirit and his connection with our desires has slipped away as just a religious thought most people have shunned away from reality. We are still responsible beings who need God and the priesthood is one actuality of our need to find God’s grace.
There is no doubt that worldly attractions of wealth, the thought of notoriety, and raising children through marriage are just some of what young men may choose as a future outlook on their lives. But there are some who hear the call in their hearts will answer and these are the vehicles Christ will use to continue the growth of his Church. This will become the saving grace of the priesthood for believers in God’s intention to save many people from Satan’s grasp. There still is the call of God.s bringing people from the insanity of evil to his grace that will lead us to share his eternal glory for ever.
