Historical Parallels to the Current Resurgence in Catholicism
Amid today’s distractions, discover why I write short, thematically rich books rooted in Catholic thought to invite deeper reflection and faith.
We live in an age where attention spans are shrinking and information comes at us faster than ever before. Yet beneath the noise, many still hunger for deeper meaning. When I read or watch something—whether fiction, non-fiction, or even daily news—I find myself searching for underlying themes, hidden connections, and larger truths. This way of reading has naturally shaped the way I write: slowly, reflectively, and always with an eye toward something greater.
In a world dominated by fast content and surface-level conversations, there is a growing need for works that encourage depth, patience, and wonder. As a Catholic writer, my mission is simple: to create books that quietly lead readers toward truth, beauty, and the fullness of life in Christ—even when faith is not explicitly mentioned.
Whether reading a novel, studying a historical event, or reflecting on Scripture, I am always drawn to find the patterns, trends, and themes that weave through human experience. This thematic vision influences my writing profoundly: my books are not scattered information dumps, but layered reflections that invite readers to think, connect, and grow.
While I respect the role blogging plays in sharing ideas quickly, I often find the SEO-driven structure—multiple subheadings, bullet points, quick takeaways—can fragment deeper reflection. Blog posts are like seeds; books allow those seeds to grow into something richer. That’s why I now focus primarily on writing books: to offer readers the time and space needed for meaningful engagement.
At any given time, I have several books in progress. My writing method is slow by design: I typically draft a chapter or two, then step away from the manuscript for a month or more. This space lets ideas mature naturally. When I return, I revise, expand, and refine—building each book slowly and prayerfully, rather than rushing to completion.
Every book I write rests on a Catholic foundation. In some works, this faith foundation is clearly visible; in others, it is woven more subtly into the narrative. I draw upon Scripture, the Catechism, and the wisdom of the Church Fathers to inform my reflections. My aim is not to preach at the reader, but to invite them into a deeper encounter with truth—one that respects their freedom and leads toward Christ.
Recognizing that many readers struggle to find time for long books, I intentionally write shorter works—roughly 200 pages or a few hours of reading. These books are concise, but they are crafted to spark new ideas, to lead readers toward contemplation, and to leave them hungering for more—not just more knowledge, but more of God Himself.
