THE HOLY TRINITY
Are some of us seeking a reprieve, rather than making necessary changes now?

Jesus has told us that no one knows the day or hour, only the Father in heaven. Matthew:25:45
If you are curious like me, if the three persons in One God are equal, why did Jesus not know the day or hour? Understanding that language 2,000 years ago was a bit different than today, and Jesus often spoke in parables, we can agree with many priests and theologians, Jesus was saying, “I am not here to tell you the day or the hour.”
We have been taught that fear is the opposite of trust. Death is the planned and promised transition from life to the “afterlife.” Therefore, we might want to dig a bit deeper into our fear of death. This is a fear that I have felt for some years. Perhaps it is a fear of the unknown, or maybe, it is our self-preservation inborn instinct.
We want to be able to go to God with joy, hopefully after living a long life. As we all have witnessed, however, we will not all enjoy a long life. Be it genetics, lifestyle, or God’s will. What has changed my perception of death is knowing that I am living my life in serving Him. Maintaining a healthy conscience and soul to the best of my ability is what I strive to attain. What happens after death has never bothered me emotionally. For some reason, it is the whole dramatic idea of death itself that I may have carried with me from a young child.
My fear of death has been taken from me by God through daily prayer and in serving Him. When the day arrives that I must leave, I want to go to Him with joy. I believe He has given me that trust, and I want to go with the anticipation of seeing God.
