To the Ends of the Earth: Witness – Week 4, Day 1 – We Must Follow the Call of the Master
Thus says the LORD,
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit,
who leads you in the way you should go.
O that you had listened to my commandments!
Then your peace would have been like a river,
and your righteousness like the waves of the sea;
your offspring would have been like the sand,
and your descendants like its grains;
their name would never be cut off
or destroyed from before me.”
Isaiah 48:17–19
There are many who feel that life is too difficult for honesty. Their motto is “Me First” and their method is “Whatever Gets Me What I Want…” For Catholics, however, our faith and the future of the Church demand that we lead a life of honesty, following God with integrity of heart. As we listen to and accept God’s truth, we experience prosperity, inner peace, freedom from guilt, and the abundance of godliness that guides our steps along the narrow way. Our path to heaven becomes clear and our feet become sure along the road.
A Catholic man who lives a life of truth has all the prosperity he will ever need. It shows in our demeanor, our words, and our actions. Others see us as determined holy tour guides who blaze a trail of truth straight into the kingdom of God.
