Here comes the Snow
Yes, there is an epidemic of anxiety living and breathing strong in society today. Worry, stress, failure in our quests, unknown answers help to swell this sea out of control. It can be calmed neither by drugs or stature, but only by real tears, real emotion, real truth about the hurt we feel.
Having a good cry or talking with the trusted friend about our pain or situation is a good step toward opening the door of our souls to God. There we stand before Him, in all of our helplessness as a child needing a good Father to reassure us He is listening. The ultimate goal is to take that step towards God's Holy Mercy and affection. Allowing Him to see our suffering. He wants us to come to Him in all of our needs. He does not expect us to come to Him stoically, especially when we are hurting so badly. His emotions in the Garden of Gethsemane proves that all humans cannot always be stoic in their pain. He will never abandon us and I consider those with great trials are dearest to His heart.
Seeing and living with a loved one who is dying or sick day after day, makes the days very long to the witness of their suffering. It can become quite troublesome. We try to offer a joyful smile, but in the realization that sometimes this pain is unbearable, we must make it known to God, that we need strength to bear this cross and that we are hurting. He will give us the strength we need, even though it seems quite impossible to bare. But remember, we are not relying on mortal comfort but immortal comfort. That can only be attained by our God.
So go ahead and cry. Go ahead and talk to this wonderful, compassionate and merciful God. He's listening very closely as we must listen closely to His infinite voice. Remembering wholeheartedly that there is a time to weep, a time for joy, a time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, a time to reap, a time to laugh, a time to mourn. With full confidence of a Father in Heaven who will never give us more than we can bare.
