To the Ends of the Earth: Action – Week 1, Day 5 – The Eucharist is About Love
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our former man was crucified with him so that the sinful body might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. For he who has died is freed from sin. But if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. For we know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. The death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 6:5–11
In Christ, we have become new creatures who no longer live by the ways of falsehood. Through the Holy Spirit, we have power over the slavery of sin and strength to live out the promises that are ours by virtue of our membership in the Body of Christ. We no longer need to carry the sinful man around with us. We can put him off, and put on Christ, every day of our lives.
Because we have been transformed by Jesus, we are free to open our lives to all that is good, noble, and just. We can fill our minds with beauty and goodness. We can choose what is wonderful over what is unworthy, and seek to live a life of excellence and purity. As new men in Christ, each of us should be a model for others to follow, drawing everyone we meet to Jesus through our words and actions. Freed from falsehood, we leave our indelible mark upon the world, daily revealing our unity with the risen Lord.

Praying with Scripture
Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his practices and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his creator. (Col 3:9–10)
