What Happened, and Why?
This morning I shared a video post that talked about No Zone Areas in America. It told of Muslims who were operating camps to train recruits for terrorism. I stated with this post is NOT a hate post but to inform and educate the evil of secrecy and what goes on in private. Just as it did for KKK meetings, gang meetings, and drug lords and yes, our own government---much evil can be planned in secrecy.
Then, I went to Mass. As I knelt in God’s Presence---the Holy Spirit sent words to my heart. Just ‘who is the enemy?’ The Enemy is EVIL in all its forms---used by the devil to destroy and kill.
What is evil? Our Church teachings speak of seven deadly sins. The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, are Pride, Greed, Lust, Malicious Envy, Gluttony, Inordinate Anger, and Sloth or Laziness/Apathy. When any person no matter race, religion, nationality, gender, is controlled by any of these sins or emotions—then they become used by the devil to do EVIL.
What is sad is that most do not realize that they have become the ENEMY! Neither are they aware that when we give in or let these emotions control us---we are letting the devil infiltrate our being and weaken the person that we are.
Did you know that the devil cannot make you DO anything? You make the decision to give in to temptations and let your emotions and desires get the best of you. So, YOU made you do it!
We also have to remember though, that due to ‘sins’ of the parents and others passed down we may be deeply wounded and so we must admit to what is ‘enemy’ or uncontrolled emotions within and seek the help that we need to be healed of our past.
It is the past hurts, false teachings, and misunderstandings that are triggered within and cause emotions like fear, anger, and hate to rise up within us---and unless we realize what damage they can do to steal, destroy and continue to wound us---we will let them take control of who we are. We then become our own worst ENEMY.
Who is my enemy? Look within, look around---just as the person next to you is your neighbor---so is that person your enemy that lies wounded and waiting to attack when they too are triggered and respond to those emotions within. This is why the parable of the Good Samaritan was so important to understand. That person in the ditch is each one—each person that life has wounded, robbed from and left for dead. Abandoned and rejected, bullied and despised---there is your neighbor---but there also is your enemy! What makes them your enemy? If you do not love as Jesus loves—if you do not love that neighbor lying in the ditch and the person also within yourself---the enemy becomes alive and strong. The Enemy therefore, is you.
It is living God's LOVE that will give us the VICTORY over the Enemy in all areas of our world and our life too.
Rise up Oh Children of God--in His Love---the Victory is yours!!
