In this time of need, go to a saint that Jesus always answers!
I am not talking about presents that we give each other on Christmas and birthdays. I am talking about gifts from God. God has given us gifts in time, talent, and treasure.
We did not give ourselves the talents that we have. Indeed not. Sure, we may have cultivated the talents that we have been given, but the initial talent was not something we could have given our self. After all, I did not create myself and you did not create yourself.
The same can be said of our time. It is a gift from God. Of course, we live in a privileged country, but we all know people who have gone before we would have expected. Every day is a gift.
Treasure is also a gift from God. Your family, culture, and country had a lot to do in determining the treasure that you have and can earn during your life. You and I did not decide these before we were conceived. No, they are all a gift.
So, why did God give us these gifts? Well first of all, He loves us. When we love someone, we want to give them good things. But also, He wants us to give to others. Not everyone is given the same amount of gifts. And even that can sometimes be a gift. How often do we take the gifts for granted and forget the Giver. When you have less gifts, you see the few gifts that you have and appreciate them all the more.
God has given us many gifts that we are to be stewards of. He wants us to be a large family. And families share with one another.
Re-gifting when the first giver is God? Now that’s re-gifting made better.
