Is It a Sin for Catholics to Eat Meat on Fridays?
Saint Augustine wrote: "...hear how it is that the Son says, 'I judge him not,' while in another place He says, 'The Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment unto the Son;' namely, that thereby we are to understand, It is not now that I judge him. And why not now? Listen to the sequel: 'For I am not come,' He says, 'to judge the world, but to save the world;' that is, to bring the world into a state of salvation." There is no contradiction between John 5:22 and John 12:47, since Jesus in John 12:47 is speaking about the time before the final judgement whenever He says: "I judge him not." The point is that He came to bring salvation, and not judgement (Jn. 3:17). So at that time and even now and up until the general judgement, Jesus will not judge us since He came to bring salvation.
