Marley girl
In 1412, St Joan of Arc was born in France to a propertied peasant family in Domremy, France. In 1428, she requested to be taken to Charles VII, later testifying that she was guided by visions from the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine to help him save France from English domination. Convinced of her purity, Charles sent Joan, who was about 17 years old, to the Battle of Orleans as part of a relief army. Joan led the siege in 1429, wielding her banner and bringing hope to the demoralized French army. 9 days after her arrival, the English abandoned the siege. Victory after victory, Joan fought with such intensity and honor for her country and it's King Charles was crowned. With Joan by his side. On May 23rd, she was captured by Burgundian troops. She was then handed over to the English, ruled by a cruel and heretical Bishop, accusing her of sorcery and witchcraft for wearing men's clothes and supposedly following and acting upon visions that were demonic. When in all actuality, these visions were from the realm of God. She was declared guilty and burned at the stake, holding a Crucifix and proclaiming Jesus as God, which was her strength. On May 30th, 1431, aged about 19 years old, St Joan of Arc was martyred.
How courageous, how valiant, how inspiring a witness to the true honor and Glory of God. This young girl is revered as Patron of France and should inspire all teenagers and all young girls to fight for good. Fight for their faith. Fight for Jesus.
St Joan of Arc's feast day is May 30th. Say a sweet prayer of Thanksgiving for her Valor and Representation of the One True God. Pray to her to inspire all young people to fight with conviction for the good of God. After all, they are our future.
