Uphill

Uphill

We were made to walk uphill

Walking down does not feel so natural

Our Lord went up He Ascended to Heaven

Our hope is to one day join

His Spirit He did send to protect and guide

Trust in Him we must and always abide

In doing so and praying daily

Are we then walking uphill reverently

It can be easy to mess up and falter

And before we know it now in an evil spiral

Very hard is it for us then to leave

Evil vices clamp and cleave

If we focus on true happiness

Then our uphill journey becomes easy and mindless

Sure we must be constantly striving

But our end goal should keep us thriving

Heaven does require some hard work and sacrifice

Hell does not and you’ll forever want fot cool and ice

Our goal must be always uphill

To our Lord Who Ascended and loves us still
