How to Prove that God Exists
The Vulgate is the best bible translation since it has been aproved, exhorted, and affirmed by the ecumenical council of Trent. It is made it clear that it has "not too much" nor "not too little," thus the Vulgate contains the exact number of true, inspired scripture.
Session IV of Trent says: "But if any one receive not, as sacred and canonical, the said books entire with all their parts, as they have been used to be read in the Catholic Church, and as they are contained in the old Latin vulgate edition; and knowingly and deliberately contemn the traditions aforesaid; let him be anathema."..."Moreover, "the same sacred and holy Synod,–considering that no small utility may accrue to the Church of God, if it be made known which out of all the Latin editions, now in circulation, of the sacred books, is to be held as authentic,–ordains and declares, that the said old and vulgate edition, which, by the lengthened usage of so many years, has been approved of in the Church, be, in public lectures, disputations, sermons and expositions, held as authentic; and that no one is to dare, or presume to reject it under any pretext whatever."
Considering this, any "bible" which contradicts the manuscripts or passages or books of the Vulgate by adding more than what is therein, or ommiting what is therein, should not be used, for it is unreliable.
An example of this is the NABRE which has a two-verse introduction to the book of Tobias which is not found in the DRA. The DRA would be correct, since it is based on the Vulgate, while the NABRE is not in accordance with the Vulgate.
I am not trying to "bash" translations which come from the Greek or the Hebrew, and I actually respect those translations. But I believe that it should be made known that these other non-Vulgate-based translations may have either too much or too little, so if anyone reads a non-Vulgate-based translation, they ought to check the passages by seeing the Vulgate or a Vulgate-based translation.
