Will You My Disciple Be?

Many were the times, I heard my mother say--"All for the love of Jesus".  This was when she was hurting from arthritis and refused to take anything for her pain. "No," she would say: "Jeanie needs prayers, or another one of the relatives or friends needed her prayers. She chose to be a living sacrifice of love, just as our dear Lord.  He willing went through the passion and to the cross, for three hours, as a living sacrifice of deep love for us.

Everyday, we too, will have pain, struggles, frustrations, many negative experiences --- and we have a choice. To mumble, grumble, whine, complain and even cuss when we have to deal with the unpleasantries of life. No matter how big, no matter our small, we have a choice! Jesus told us, in Matthew 16:24 what the Conditions of Discipleship are for us.  Then Jesus said to his disciples, " Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. "

So, beloved do we really what to be a follower of Christ? Can you have a WILLING ATTITUDE in your daily walk with our Lord? Remember, what whining and complaining got the sojourners going to the Promised Land. They wandered for 40 years and failed even to see that Promised Land. Even after seeing all the great miracles that God performed to remove them from slavery and the horrors of Egypt, they chose to mumble, complain and worship false idols.  Many died, never seeing what was promised by our God who loved them.

We too, have idols we must be wary of---bowing to neon gods, the worst. For Revelations tells us, the beast will give himself a voice and an image.  Hello-to AI technology.  So, be careful what of what "God" you serve.

Please take up your crosses, and choose to be a living sacrifice--praying for the conversion of souls, the poor souls on this earth and in purgatory. God is counting on you. What will your answer be?
