To the Ends of the Earth: Legacy – Catholic Men's Devotionals, Week 3 – Our Legacy is Our Hope
But we see Jesus, who for a little while was made lower than the angels, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for every one.
Hebrews 2:9
When Jesus returns to earth in his glory, he will greet us according to the deeds we have done, whether good or bad (see Mt 25:31–46). The Creed tells us, “He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead.” He who was placed lower than the heavenly beings and experienced death for the sake of humanity will one day stand before us all as our judge. What a blessed thought to know that those of us who are not ashamed of Christ will experience his presence in an eternal kingdom where sin and death will be no more.
On that wonderful day, we who have been saved by grace will stand before our King and present the legacy of our lives as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God (see Rom 12:1). We await his return with joyful anticipation and lasting hope.

In what ways are you working to live more fully an unashamed life that is pleasing to God?
How specifically can you work out your salvation in sacrificial service to others today?
Praying with Scripture
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. (2 Cor 3:18)
