Our Sacred Stories
A lot of times I tend to see only the troubles in this world and forget to see the "goodness" that exists. Life gets burdensome with constant work or worries of family, and growing children or just plain tiredness. My constant motion keeps me from breathing and opening my eyes to the Sweet Miracles that truly surround me. I must do better.
This constant pace makes me place my Sundays in priority for Peace. Starting with a Holy Mass and soaking up that "goodness" is so appreciated in my heart that often I would ask myself, "how can anyone not want to start their day with Holy Mass?". I yearn for words of Wisdom from our Clergy and it fulfills that void within me that is dying for refreshment.
Goodness exists. The people God puts in our path are weeded out by that "goodness". If we try to walk in God's path, the flowers along the way smell so sweet. He is subtle but direct when pruning time comes. Making the flowers that remain, grow strong and ever more sweet smelling.
I saw a sweet Red bird sitting on a branch only to realize it was trying to be attacked by a bunch of "Grackles". Timidly inching his way, this little Red bird that I was watching, was just sitting there. I saw more and more of the Grackles try to approach. Making so much racket. I got defensive. I was clapping my hands in hopes they would fly away. Some did, some stayed, but this time they weren't as aggressive. The little Red bird seem to look at me and wait for my cue. One last clap did it and the Grackles flew to the left, while the sweet Cardinal flew to the right. I could have seen this as frustrating but after I chose to see the Goodness of the situation, which was my eyes to behold, one of the most beautiful birds our Lord has ever created, I was at Peace. "Goodness exists".
When we forget ourselves, our schedules, our distractions, we are able to see the "Goodness" in "everything".
Praised be God!
