To the Ends of the Earth: Legacy – Week 10, Day 1 – Like the Apostles, We Are Called to Follow Jesus

“If any one serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; if any one serves me, the Father will honor him.”

John 12:26

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

John 10:27–30

We cannot be disciples of Jesus unless we follow in his footsteps to Calvary, draw from his grace, and celebrate our resurrected life in him. He calls us to join the Great Commission he gave to his Apostles: to go out into the world and share the Good News.

Do you hear the voice of your Shepherd calling? Are you willing to venture out into the wilderness of life and trust that the Lord will never allow anyone to snatch you out of his hand? Will you promise to serve with your whole heart, totally committed to the journey of salvation, from now straight on into eternity? We have been given a great gift. We are loved by a Savior who left the mansions of heaven to walk the dusty roads of this earth, suffered at the hands of evil men, and died on the cruel cross to save us from our sins. Let us not waste our legacy, but go forward with great anticipation and exuberant joy as we dedicate our lives to the cause of Christ.

Where do you hear the voice of the Good Shepherd calling you to go in the days to come?

How will you continue to share the gift of salvation with all those around you?
