A prayer for God to come into your emotions
Walking without Jesus brings us turmoil and uncertainty. We rely on our own judgment and lots of times that is not good. I must do better about asking Jesus to walk with me in every step that I take. Every step. I try to go it alone and I fall flat on my face. Fortunately, I look up from the ground and find Him always there. Smiling at me, with open arms. Reaching His hand towards me. Ready to lift me up from that unforgiving floor I'm having such a hard time getting my bearings on, to stand erect.
I see many walking without Jesus. My soul saddens for them. Just like the King and Country song says, "what are we waiting for? Acting like there's someone who is making time for making more". Our time is now. Every second I let slip by could be a second of Joy. Of Peace. Of Discernment. The blinders the evil one places on our eyes are a cruel and hideous joke we allow him to play on us. Jesus wants to remove those blinders. But we must be willing to walk with Him.
Be mindful. Walking with Jesus can be hard sometimes. We have to release our control and allow Him to lead us down thorny paths. Rejection, poverty, sickness, can be thrown along the way and we might stumble and bruise our egos. But also, remember, even in all of our desolation, He will never ever leave our sides. Faith in that gentle, loving, Father's hand, ready to grab us, is nearer than we think. We must only believe. Time does not stand still for us. We must grab hold of each Precious moment.
St Paul's Gospel today tells us to turn the other cheek. To go another mile, to offer our cloak, because that is what Jesus would do.
Walking beside Jesus, we become one of His Disciples, and there is no other place I would rather be.
