A Reflection on the Depth of God's Mercy
A Noise of Silence; Reaches into our souls that awakens the Sound of Christ’s True Presence
Too many ignore the Sanctuary of the Tabernacle which is the Temple of Christ, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Once a Tabernacle is blessed by the Bishop and Consecrated hosts are reserved after the Consecration at Holy Mass, this becomes the altar of incense as described in Exodus 30. Without detailing this meaning within the Ark of the Covenant we must recognize the sustenance of the Tabernacles in Catholic Churches and any Chapels where the Holy Mass is celebrated and the Real Presence of Jesus Christ is reserved for the sick and most especially for Sacred Adoration.
There is no doubt that this Holy of Holies isn’t just a convenient location for consecrated hosts of Holy Communion, it is a royal palace that protects the Son of the Living God in his reality, divine and human; both natures in one consecrated host; Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Heb 13: 8).
How is it possible that so many pass by the tabernacle with the slightest notice of what is before them? Even if some supernatural alarm would sound if people ignored Christ’s Presence, even then most would pass by with a thought that it must be an alarm for something that isn’t important.
What must take place to understand the doctrine of the Real Presence of Christ in the Consecrated hosts of the Holy Mass is real and never leaves the host. That adverb that identifies the verb “leaves” means never in all of its essence.
We are living in an era that has taken a common attitude towards religion, that means little, and unfortunately Sacred dogmas like the Real Presence of Christ in the consecrated hosts for Roman Catholics has taken the same tragic disbelief even for Catholics including some priests as well.
Perhaps we will all be surprised one day when the Real Presence appears in all its glory and those who disregard it is not a superficial occurrence when the priest elevates the Consecrated host that began as bread becoming the real flesh of our sacrificed God who died for my sins. When nothing exceptional takes on a reality of divine origin we must acknowledge that the Holy Spirit has brought into our presence the life that is eternal without beginning or end. That my readers is Theologically true whether you are Roman Catholic or another denomination.
I get quite disturbed when a TV preacher claims that their communion is the same as ours, although they do not proclaim that, and they discount the Apostolic Succession that Catholics hold dear and we become recipients of this truth.
Since this sacrament of Holy Orders is the sacrament of the apostolic ministry, it is for the bishops as the successors of the apostles to hand on the “gift of the Spirit” the apostolic line. Validly ordained bishops, i.e., those who are in line of apostolic succession, validly confer the three degrees of the sacrament of Holy Orders. (CCC 1576). This is our premise of Catholics.
