Repentance
PART THREE – The End Times
Verses from the Catholic Bible sharing Verses from the Heart of Jesus to our Hearts
Matthew 22:14 states, “For many are called, but few are chosen.” This phrase is part of Jesus’ Parable of the Wedding Feast, illustrating that while many are invited to partake in the kingdom of heaven, only a few will ultimately be accepted. The “calling” refers to the general invitation to salvation extended to all, but the “chosen” signifies those who respond appropriately to that invitation. This verse emphasizes the importance of being prepared and worthy to enter the kingdom.
How does Israel provide clues to Watch for relative to The END TIMES?
Because Israel has been mentioned in the Bible relative to the End Times, we are alerted each time there is a conflict between Israel and another country. The fact is that Israel has, throughout history, been in conflict, if not in combat, with other countries. There were the Egyptians, Moabites, Philistines, Babylonians, Persians, and the Romans, to mention a few. However, Jeremiah 30:7 states, “There will be high states of conflict in Israel during the end times.”
Therefore, the question remains, how can we distinguish between the wars of the past involving Israel with the conflict within Israel that is to occur during the End Times?”
There are a couple of signs to watch out for. Example: The Antichrist will break his covenant with Israel, and worldwide persecution of Israel will be the result. Matthew 24:15, Israel will be invaded.
Zechariah 12:10, Israel will proclaim Jesus Christ as their Messiah.
Israel was reconstituted as a nation in 1948. Many Bible prophecy scholars believed the six-day Arab-Israel war in 1967 was the “beginning of the end.”
How can we decide when the world is truly ending?
The answer I find to that question is that we cannot determine when the end will be. Jesus told us; “No one knows the day or the hour except our Father in heaven.”
How then should we react to the violence, floods, wars, and more happening in our world today?
In reflection and from God’s discernment, I can only provide my spiritual answer that serves us best. And I suggest that often, reactions are often immediate and without a lot of thought. Rather than focusing our energy on deciding whether or not we are in the End Times, we would be best served by being vigilant without overreacting. More importantly, we would be wiser to focus our energies on being prepared spiritually, keeping ourselves free from temptation and sin.
As I have always been reminded, life and the earth we live on are ALL terminal. Serve
God each day by serving His people with love, mercy, forgiveness, and compassion.
Knowing that we have lived our lives to serve Christ through prayer and following His Commandments, we can take comfort in knowing that our God sees and hears all.
Do not allow yourself to be anxious about when death will come to us. Live the way Jesus has taught us to live, and enjoy the freedom of fear by placing your trust in God.
