THE SIMPLE APPROACH TO HEALTHY LIVING
Corpus Christi Sunday Feast Day
A beautiful message from God
Eileen Renders
Today, on such a beautiful and holy Feast Day of the Eucharist, I share with you both a personal story, and only because it is attached to a revelation of discernment from God to His faithful. To begin, this past Tuesday, the 17th of June, I was at the Emergency, and subsequently admitted to the hospital for “Observation” due to a systolic blood pressure of 250, quite serious. I have also been known to suffer anxiety once in a while, and this, unfortunately, was one of those occasions. I was in the hospital on Wednesday and then again on Thursday, with high readings fluctuating. But of course, being hooked up with two ports, drawing blood, and not seeing my blood pressure go down, I became anxious.
The next day, (Thursday) with blood pressure still over 189, I prayed to God early in the morning, looking out my hospital window and seeing the most incredible sunrise from the 6th floor, a sky of orange, gold, and tiny bits of dark. I prayed to God to come to me in His mercy as He did when I was six years of age and almost dying from a severe reaction of infection from the preschool vaccines. About half an hour later, my husband came to visit me in the hospital. We were about half an hour into that visit when I stepped into the bathroom for a minute. When I returned to my room, I immediately saw a woman I had never seen before, and she was in Street clothes.
She introduced herself as a woman from our Church and had come to visit me and to bring Holy Communion to me. I cried out, “He came, He came to me,” and tears ran down my cheeks.” A few hours later, I was discharged from the hospital and went home to rest and keep a watchful eye on my blood pressure.
That was two days ago, today is Sunday, and I went to Mass with my husband. Being Corpus Christi Sunday, the priest held a wafer (not yet blessed) in his hand and spoke about how it is broken into pieces, blessed, and given to us. Immediately, within my heart, a message of discernment filled my heart, soul, and mind. These were God’s words for us, you and I, “Bread is blessed and broken, containing My body and blood, given unto you where I become complete body and blood within you. Just as you, when you leave this earth and return to dust, or are cremated, come back to Me, where you will once again become wholly body and soul. You will be in Me as I AM in you.”
This was a blessing of understanding from God, as I never could have imagined this. Like many other thousands of Catholics, I have been a wee bit concerned about the act of cremation, and the /Church itself for many years had not accepted it. However, I realize now that as long as we deeply love Jesus sincerely, follow the Commandments and prepare for a Mass after our death, and plan for being buried in sacred ground, we are fulfilling God’s wishes.
Since my miraculous healing as a child and my strengthening of faith over the years, I have often received short, meaningful messages from Jesus immediately following Holy Communion at Mass. We are all meant to share those messages as they are not for the messenger alone, but for all the faithful.
