The Ark of the Covenant Revisited
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
Recently, I was streaming a program off the internet concerning the Ark of the Covenant. It showed the measurements of the Ark in cubits which was very interesting to me as I am the son of a carpenter. I could almost hear my late father saying that I should not get any ideas. The show also portrayed the material from which the Ark was built. Interestingly, the Jewish people discovered how to make a modern day electric capacitor. Of course the Ark was built to house the two stone tablets. which the Ten Commandments are written and some manna (bread like food) from their journey in the desert. The Ark was constructed with wood in the center and gold lining both the inside and the outside of the Ark. There were two angels placed on the lid or cover of the Ark signifying God’s eternal presence inside the Ark.
The history of the Ark was traced down through the ages. The Ark was placed in Solomon’s Temple and remained there until Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. Then the Ark disappeared from sight. Down through the ages of time, many groups of people have sought to find the Lost Ark of the Covenant. Obviously, all have failed.
The program then reverted to an Evangelical Christian describing when we would see the Lost Ark in the future. He quoted the book of Revelations, chapter 11, verse 19. “Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the Ark of the Covenant could be seen in the temple.” You may question this, but this is not a future event. Chapter 12 describes the Ark of the Covenant as a woman about to give birth to a son destined to rule all nations of the earth with an iron rod. If you have noticed, the Ark described in Chapter 12 is not made of wood and gold. The Ark is made of human flesh. There are no tablets of stone; there is however a person bearing the new covenant. There is no manna in the new Ark; the Ark carries the Bread of Life. Now who do we know that fits that description?
Of course, the woman described in Revelation, Chapter 12 is our Blessed Mother. The person bearing the New Covenant is the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ. When He returns to Earth, He will rule us with an iron rod. Currently, He is ruling from heaven at the right hand of the Father with justice tempered with a tremendous amount of mercy that no created being can fathom. Therefore, it really does not matter if we find the Lost Ark of the Covenant on earth. We now have the new Ark of the Covenant assumed to be in heaven, both body and soul. She is probably seated at the right hand of Jesus constantly beseeching Him for mercy for all her children. As I wrote in an earlier article, She is the only person who can hold back her only Son’s hand long enough so that we, her earthly children, can get our act together. Please do not wait for the last minute; do it now!!
Until next time, Deo Gratias. Laus Tibi Christe. Laus Deo. Gloria Tibi Domini. See you in paradise.
Editor's note. The computer that I was using to write these articles had a huge breakdown. Using a computer with Microsoft Office 2010 is a lot different than Office 2000.
