ARE YOUR GOALS IN LIFE REALISTIC?
How do you know when God is working in you and through you?
Eileen Renders
We can feel God within us at different times, such as immediately following receiving the Host, and we are not distracted by other people in the church. A good way to focus on Christ within us is to kneel, cover our face with both hands, speak to Christ, and then listen intently. Of course, when we sincerely submit our will to God, and ask Him to lead us, and frequently pray to Him, we may become aware that God has accepted our will, and therefore, will lead us.
It makes sense, we are sincere in desiring to follow Christ, and submit our will, asking Him to please accept, and replace our will with His will. In time, we will feel a sense of being pulled in a direction of achieving good works that was never our idea. Along with this leading, we will also begin to feel a sense of calm, joy, and completeness.
God will also affirm for us that it is indeed He who is guiding us, people we are entrusted to help through rough times, will be attracted to us, as there are many ways in which god affirms that He is present within us.
As time moves forward, we are less attracted to those things that we once did for enjoyment and to simply pass time. We are more focused on waiting, listening, and feeling God propel us toward where we are being led, and how we can serve Him.
This is not something that can occur overnight. God will cautiously evaluate our sincerity in submitting our will over and praying for only His will to lead us. Also, there must be a way in which we can offer assistance to those in need. Whether it is through writing, evangelizing, or praying. It may be some are selected to assist the elderly, the poor with running errands, a drive to the hospital, or simply helping with home chores. Whatever we are best suited for, and in God’s time.
God will open the doors and affirm that you are on the right path. One way is how many doors will close when you knock, but you will find one door swing wide open for your entrance, the least path of resistance may be God’s way of affirming this is the door for you to take. However, it must be a door that leads to helping others, with humility and empathy. God affirms it is He moving within you when you feel that strong sense of calm, entwined with a joy that only God can give.
If this is your desire, and God accepts you as chosen, you will first be evaluated by your sincerity, trust and patience. When we are in God, and He is in us, we become as one. We can want nothing more. A true sense of completion and meaning of our life has been met.
