Lucifer, the Fallen angel
Eileen Renders
Lucifer, once an angel in heaven, was cast out of heaven and fell to earth like Lightning with all his devil followers. Lucifer exemplifies the sin of Pride, and he hopes to succeed in causing our souls a downfall through preying on our weaknesses to lead us to sin. To win over the souls that God desires to save. Yes, we are often tempted to sin unknowingly. We may answer Lucifer’s call when we are tempted into believing “we deserve more credit, acknowledgement, “to pass over the homeless, the hungry, the poor, in saying to ourselves, “Let them work.” Many are weak, sick, penniless, and without working ability due to mental disorders, health issues, and more.
Sacrifice – Could we be unwilling to share out of selfishness? Did not Jesus become the ultimate example of unselfishness by sacrificing His flesh and blood to save us from sin?
Luke 10: In Chapter 10 of Luke, God gives powers to His disciples and true followers, telling them to go out and evangelize, and giving power to heal. Jesus loved and gave those who loved Him many powers to assist others with their needs. For example, Jesus sent out His disciples and followers to evangelize, and to tell of God’s mercy and graces He desired to give to His people. However, those who did not believe that Jesus was the Son of God and followed evil ways would meet with God’s just punishment.
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 14:14 Lucifer replies, “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Pride is sinful as it is narcissistic, places oneself above all others. It is selfish, cruel, and opposed to God’s humbleness. We must acknowledge that by ourselves, we are helpless. Without God’s love, mercy, and forgiveness, we could be doomed come Judgment Day.
Remain Awake! The Evil One is cunning and baffling, and attempts to have us believe his temptations are simply our thought-out plan of justice for receiving what we believe is owed to us. Recognizing how he approaches is crucial, and as soon as we hear him, we all need to remember to quickly call on God to save us from sin, and to teach us how to be humble.
