Team Iron Will: Championing Possibility for the Down Syndrome Community
I recently read a social media post in which the person said she asked ChatGPT the following question: “If Satan wanted to convince society that the preborn baby is not human, how would he do it?” She said it responded with all the methods we have seen employed by pro-abortionists over the last 50-plus years.
Curious, I asked ChatGPT that same question. And yes, the results were disturbing and a little reminiscent of a dystopian universe.
ChatGPT gave several steps to dehumanizing the preborn baby, beginning with redefining our language. Replace the word baby, it said, with words like fetus or products of conception. It then suggested that Satan should frame the abortion discussion in terms of choice, rights, or healthcare.
It gave the following steps to continue:
Sound familiar?
If we look back on how the world viewed the preborn baby decades ago versus today, we will see that all of these tactics have been employed by people acting as Satan’s minions here on earth. The evils of abortion are all around us—in our language, in our social media feeds, on TV, and even in schools.
Society needs to wake up and see how abortion is destroying families and facilitating hatred throughout our country.
We have gotten so far away from a world where all human beings are respected that many fear teaching the truths of the developing preborn baby. Priests don’t talk about abortion in sermons for fear of alienating parishioners. TV shows have gone woke. And social media posts illuminating the horrors of abortion don’t meet the criteria for the “magic” algorithm that allows thousands of people to see them.
The result is that pro-life people often end up preaching to the proverbial choir and the people who really need this message don't hear it.
If we are ever going to change our culture, we must take a two-pronged approach.
We must find the moral courage to speak out and give voice to the vulnerable. That means we defend them in our friend group, within our families, at work, and on social media.
And then we must educate at home. That means we teach our children from the time they are small that all human beings—born and preborn—matter and have value. We teach them that a baby is a human being not a choice. We teach them the correct way to speak to others so that they can go out and teach their friends.
Satan has a stranglehold on our society, and those who want to frame abortion as healthcare will win if we don’t work hard to defeat them.
Education starts in the home. Respect for life starts in the home. Parents, it’s up to you to lead your family.
The Culture of Life Studies Program—a Catholic, pro-life education program for kids in pre-K-12th grade—has tools to help parents build a culture of life and stop the evil from progressing. Two lessons in particular address the correct science and will open your children’s eyes to the beauty of the preborn child.
The Developing Baby is a 34-page, four-day lesson booklet for children in grades pre-K–2. It uses Regina Doman’s book entitled Angel in the Waters to teach young children about the beauty of a preborn baby and reinforces the fact that life is a miracle to be treasured. And The Beauty of the Developing Human Being explores the science of the earliest moments of a person’s life and gives students a firm foundation regarding the fact that every human being’s life must be protected from creation until death. This lesson booklet is recommended for 7th to 9th grade but can be suitable for older or younger students as parents deem appropriate.
Both help you teach your kids the scientific truth about the developing preborn person, and it is only this truth that will win the battle against the evils of this world and conquer the lies of Satan.
