Who is the Son of God?
If you hadn't read it, this article may be worth reading before you continue; Job's terrible friends, and please check out my previous article, here; You NEED to know the Old Testament, and if you want to help me out, go here; Help with medical bills
I had been going over the Book of Job with my nephew. I think, he being at ten, can understand a lot of the themes. I even told him when all the things got bad, that things do get better for Job. Although this isn't the version we read from, I am going to use the KJV because, 1) I have it in front of me, and, 2) I have to always worry about copyright.
So, with that,
“And it was so, that, after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliaphaz the Temanite, My wrate is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. Therefore take unto you now seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, like my servant Job. So Eliaphiz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuthite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: The LORD also accepted Job”. (Job 42:7-9).
Now, it would be beneficial to read all of Job, but, if you're pressed for time and want to know the context of this, read Job Chapters 39-42.
But, remember what I said about Job's friend? They said all the things that you SHOULD NEVER SAY TO SOMEONE WHO HAS LOST CHILDREN. And what do they do? Pretty constantly accuse Job of sinning. And, while God tells Job himself some of the actual problems with him are, but, you'll note, not as far as I can tell, Job doesn't sin. His friends, on the other hand, are actually being kind of judgey.
Thankfully, they get called out for it, and, everyone towards the end does what God asks of him.
As for Job?
Things end well for him. It doesn't bring back his dead family members, but, he had ended up living a good, fulfilling, long life. (see Job 42:10-17).
And, so, I will end with this, “So Job died, being old and full of days”. (Job 42:17)
