The crisis is before our eyes
Definition of Shalom: Peace. Absence of conflict. Representing a state of Tranquility. Physical, emotional and Spiritual harmony. "Shalom" is not merely a greeting but a powerful Blessing and a reflection of God's nature. Everything put in its proper place, with no parts missing or broken. That's what I want. Jesus probably said it hundreds of times in His earthly life. Oh my, all the homes and people that were blessed! It is not just a Jewish saying, it is a Universal saying for the whole world to say. We all want peace. We all want an end to conflict and a guide in direction to God.
Today's Gospel speaks of Jesus's Peace. Especially as the 72 Disciples embarked on their journeys to spread the word of God. Entering each City with "Shalom". Shaking off the dust from their feet from all who did not accept this greeting. This Peace. We keep ourselves in turmoil and unrest. Jesus is knocking on the door with His greeting of "Shalom".
Open the door and greet Him joyfully with "our" response to Him, "Shalom".
