THE GARDEN OF SUFFERING

 What is there to be said about suffering? If you have chronic pain, then you already know more about suffering then most people. But for those of us who suffer pain every day, and no treatment, no pill can relieve the pain, we can learn a spiritual purpose for pain. Use it as medium by which we reflect the glorious grace and mercy of God. We were chosen to suffer so that others can understand the depths of God's love for all mankind. It is in suffering that we are first drawn to Christ. It is in suffering that we beg for Him to heal us. It is in suffering that we are tested. Will I still love and follow Him if He chooses not to heal me? For many, if He heals them, they rejoice and thank God, and go about their merry ways, forgetting all about Him. However, if you were one of the truly blessed individuals whom God chose from the foundations of the world, from the time you were knitted in your mother's womb, not to heal, then hear what I say.

  Suffering is the fertile soil in which holiness grows.

    The soil of our souls is tilled and cared for. In the center of our garden, is the cross of Christ. And in this fertile soil is where the people of God plant the seeds of our suffering. And when the seeds of faith and suffering have been planted, in due time we will reap the harvest of holiness.
