The Harvester
That Which is Most Important
Joseph beaten out of jealousy
By his brothers no less his family
Thrown in pit to rot and die
At the last minute sold to Egyptians going by
Joseph forgave his brothers
They who sold him into slavery for a few dollars
He was kind and did not harbor any ill feeling
With his confession Joseph sent his brothers reeling
The Good Samaritan an Israelite
Come upon a dreadful sight
A man beaten nearly to death
Robbed of nearly all save his breath
The victim he was not a Jew
Yet it was a Jew who agreed to see him through
To pay for his food room and care
Not a coincidence this man showed up there
The spoiled child raves in anger
My inheritance NOW not later
To his wretched son it is given
Off he goes to a life of sin
Figuring out that he’d been wrong
Afraid his father’s words would be strong
Home he went heavy in shame
But his father instead played the true love game
These are events and parables that offer truly
Insight into how we must live daily
These events are what our Lord lived for us
Before he gave the ultimate upon the Cross
Speak and listen to our Lord each day
In the morning noon and evening when you pray
Try to be as Him who loves endlessly
He Who wants us all to be loving and holy
Amen
