Saint Francis of Assisi: A Beacon of Humility in a Culture of Excess
There are days when the weight comes out of nowhere.
When the quiet moments turn cruel, and you find yourself sitting in a room full of voices that don’t belong to God.
You start to wonder if maybe… the enemy is right.
Maybe you are too broken.
Maybe you don’t matter.
Maybe this world would spin just fine without you in it.
I’ve been there. And I know how convincing the darkness can be when you’re tired, lonely, and unsure of your worth.
But friend, hear me now—those are not your thoughts.
Those are lies.
The enemy speaks in subtle tones and shame-soaked sentences, hoping you won’t notice how they slip in.
He tells you you’re unlovable,
but God says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3).
He says you’ve been forgotten,
but Scripture declares you are “chosen, a royal priesthood, a holy nation” (1 Peter 2:9).
He says you’re worthless,
but Jesus reminds us that “you are worth more than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:31).
He calls you damaged,
but in Christ you are “redeemed through His blood” (Ephesians 1:7).
He tells you you’re too sinful,
but 1 John 1:9 promises that “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.”
He says no one sees you,
but like Hagar in the wilderness, you can say, “You are the God who sees me” (Genesis 16:13).
He says no one hears you,
but Scripture assures us: “This is the confidence we have… that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14).
He tells you you’re weak,
but Isaiah 40:31 says “those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”
He says you’ll never change,
but in Christ, “you are a new creation; the old has passed away” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
He says you’re rejected,
but God adopts you as His own: “You received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, ‘Abba, Father!’” (Romans 8:15).
He wants you to believe you’re all alone,
but God whispers, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
He says you are a mistake,
but Ephesians 2:10 calls you “God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus for good works.”
The enemy thrives in silence and shame, but truth sets us free.
And the truth is: you are loved.
You are known.
You are forgiven.
You are held.
You are His.
The battle is real—but so is your identity in Christ. Don't let a passing voice convince you to forget who you are in the eyes of the One who made you.
You were not created for despair. You were created to walk in the light, clothed in truth, and crowned with glory. When the enemy speaks, you don’t need to argue. You only need to remember.

And you never were.
