His Property
In Matthew 10:34-11:1, Jesus began to instruct His disciples on what it takes to be one of His followers. A son against his father, a daughter against her mother, basically, Jesus meant that no matter who comes against one's life as a Christian, one must be willing to take up thier cross and follow Him. Does this mean we are to turn our backs on our family and friends? Not necessarily. Instead, we must be willing to undertake the burden of showing people, family included, the pure, faithful, Love of God. It takes real love for us to choose to follow Jesus no matter what. And it can be a cross to love those who mock us. To love those who persecute us. It can truly be a burdensome cross to carry when others do us wrong, to show them the love of God that flows from the Holy Spirit into our hearts. Why does God fill our hearts with His love? So that we can reflect His love to others. That can be our cross. But Christ will never give us more than we can bear. Remember, the greatest of the commandments, is love. And this world is in desperate need of God's love. It's up to us to reflect that love to the world. In your prayers today, reflect on how you can show the people around you God's true love. God Bless You on your journey, C. L.
