In the blink of an eye
Words spoken quietly
Spread throughout
Fell softly on man, woman, child
Sitting in the waiting room
What was I waiting for?
Scent of saintly roses fills drive back home
Past man, woman, child
In cars, buses, street corners
Thirsty, hungry, sad, remembering
Past man, woman, child
Going about their lives
Laughing, crying, living new memories
In the blink of an eye
Words spoken quietly
Took on new life
Into my heart
No longer just ‘waiting’
God’s Word leaps
Don’t wait to love
