Using the Situation to Know God

INTRODUCTION
God reveals his self in every situation. You must use your will and intellect to know God in the situation.
A situation involves condition and circumstances. It is through condition and circumstances that you know God.
God is known in the situation through a process. The process is as follows: becoming, possessing, and union.
The condition for beginning to know God in the situation is becoming. Circumstances allow you to possess truth and be united to God.
Without becoming, possession, and unity it is not possible to know God in the situation.
USING THE SITUATION TO KNOW GOD
A situation is a position in which a person must conditionally relate in a way to circumstances (Merriam-Webster.com). To conditionally relate means a certain way of being is necessary for a person in a situation in order for an effect to take place (Merriam-Webster.com). Circumstances are factors in a situation which must be related to conditionally (Merriam-Webster.com).
Using the situation to know God involves becoming God’s way, possession of the truth, and unity to God.
Becoming God’s way means the human person must have a proper disposition. The proper disposition is as follows:
· Perfection. No contradiction. No capacity for change. Doing what is best. Being counted on to provide.
In order to have a proper disposition, the human person must want to have a proper disposition. When the human person has a proper disposition he or she is able to align their will with the will of God.
Without becoming God’s way, without aligning your will to God’s will, it is not possible to conditionally relate correctly to circumstances.
When the human person has a proper disposition he or she is possessing the certain way of being necessary for an effect to take place.
The desired effect to take place is the knowing of God, which takes place in the intellect.
Knowing God is accomplished through possession of the truth and unity to God.
Possession of the truth means the human person is in accordance with the reality of the situation manifested through the circumstances.
Unity to God means the human person has come to know God in a manner that reflects God’s way and truth and thus has life.
Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life” (Jn 14:6). Jesus also said: “No one comes to the Father except through me” (Jn 14:6).
There is no other way to God than through Jesus. Using the situation to know God allows us to follow Jesus and be one with Jesus in the Father.
Jesus is God’s way, possesses truth, and has life. When we use the situation to know God we too are God’s way, possess truth, and have life.
CONCLUSION
God is always desiring the best for you and for all creation. His will is for you to possess life and to possess it abundantly (Jn 10:10).
God is revealed in every situation. By following Jesus--becoming God’s way, possessing truth, and being in union with God--you use your will and intellect properly and know God and possess life abundantly.
Using the situation to know God is an effective activity that will help you be closer to God and improve your life.
