What am I thankful for?
What is the difference between something that could be and another that shall be?
We always were taught to choose our grammar carefully when describing an entity along with prepositions, adjectives, and adverbs to enhance an idea making a point that will cause one to take notice. Just recently, I sent an article denouncing Zohran Mamdani’s NYC mayoral win as a candidate under a socialist regime. If he becomes the winner in the election as mayor of New York City his premise will set a precedent that very well will become like a plague across this nation. We are already under a lot of scrutiny in many cities and states that are denouncing our democracy that threatens to destroy the Constitution of the United States to suit an antiAmerican philosophy that employs too many Communistic theories.
Looking at the idea of something such as our Bill of Rights that might place our freedoms in a crucible that promises to rewrite the documents prepared nearly 250 years ago by patriots who deeply cared about this nation; America!
How often the non-believers say that our Nation’s safety could never be attacked by foreign enemies. What should have opened their eyes were two incidents that certainly proved we are not as secure as once believed. December 7, 1941, when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese Air-Force burying thousands under sunken ships. And who can forget September 11, 2001, with over 3,000 civilians killed in New York’s Twin towers, the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and Flight 43 in Pennsylvania with the heroes who saved either the White House or the Capitol Building.
Where were the non-believers who insisted we could never see this in America? Now, where are the rest of the doubters that a government of Communism, which will lead to Marxism, can never infiltrate this nation? As in the header of this article, it isn’t could it occur to when shall it happen?
We do need more writers and preachers sending a warning to those who might have their heads in the sand thinking, “if we close our eyes and stuff cotton in our ears, maybe these threats will just blow over.” I do not believe any of this hyperbole would be true if it wasn’t for the signs in this century with evil proponents that are converting innocent citizens into believing what is simply false.
Let us not forget that with all this upheaval on our planet we must never put the blessings from God aside as if he just shows concern for church issues. Before we had any semblance of God’s connection with spirituality he gave a garden to Adam that had nothing to do with a church. It was only when he and his wife Eve decided to disobey God’s generous concern that the need for belief would need discipline and the church was born teaching man how to please God with adherence to prayer and finding his truth. (Gn 3: 11 - 17).
We cannot forget that God always showed concern for his creatures and stands as a sentry watching the movement of the evil contents that will threaten anyone of us. Remember that Christ died to redeem us from our sin, and he is ready to secure the freed children that he created. “Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you, and help you, and uphold you with my right hand of justice.” (Is 41: 10).
